My name is Martina Edgefield, and I would like to start by giving all honor and acknowledgement to my
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is because of him I can do what I love each day which is to serve the
great people of the Bell County area as a Esthetician with 41 years of experience.

I am blessed to be happily married to a wonderful husband who encourages and supports me in every way as well as being
a mother to some of the most beautiful and amazing children here in Texas and abroad.
 

As a child, while growing up in Flensburg, Germany, I became extremely interested with skin care and
pedicures. Growing up in Flensburg Germany, which is a small, beautiful town in the northern region of
Europe right on the border of Denmark.  My mother would take me with her to get facials and pedicures.
I remember always telling her that I would love to do that someday when I grow up and I never lost sight
of that dream.

At the age of 17, I immediately enrolled into (Berliner Berufsfachschule Für Kosmetikern)
which at the time may have been one of the top cosmetic schools in Berlin Germany and there is where
my journey as a young and eager to learn Esthetician began. I was so blessed to have completed and
obtain my 2-year associate degree as an esthetician.

Shortly after graduating, I immediately started a one-year internship at a well-known luxurious day spa in Berlin. There is where I truly learned my profession and I fell in love with it even more. After I completed my internship, I was immediately hired by the owner and excelled at my craft. Two years after being hired I was promoted to manager and was
sent to manage a spa at a second location. After managing the spa for two years, I left Berlin to go back
home to buy and run my own spa.

I ran a successful business for ten years until I met my wonderful husband and left Germany to come to America.
 

I arrived to America in December 1999 and I remember thinking will I ever be able to do what I truly love
again. Well after a lot of hard work and perseverance I was able to get re-certified here in the U.S. and
establish my own spa once again. Although rules and regulations may be different from one place to
another, skin care is universal and it’s something that we all need to take care of.

With my 41 years of experience and having learn and worked in Europe as well as in the U.S. l have had
the fortune and privilege of working with various types of skin on men and women of various
nationalities from all around the world. Now I will never say that I know everything because with skin
care you never stop learning. What I can say is that it’s not much that I haven’t seen.
